For anyone tired of creating spheres in SketchUp the time consuming way, I found a fun little plug in that adds a sphere
drawing tool to the Draw menu. Simply download the .rb file and place it in your plugins folder.
Found the plugin at:

I have downloaded and installed (and used) this plugin, so it should be nice and safe for everyone.

Ah it places the function in the toolbar, but sketchup already has the function.
Im trying to find a way to map them correctly in Sketchup though.
This is how far im with it now. (not quite right yet)

That looks great to me! Love the idea of the globe as part of the table.
Drawing the spheres according to the SketchUp tutorial was just bending my brain so the little plugin helped :)

Here's a geeky question:
So I import obj files all the time. But in our library of models at work, we also have a bunch of w3d and pz3 files. Is
there any way to get these into SketchUp? Do I need to convert them into obj files first? If so, can anyone suggest a converter?

lol i remember i had to work with *w3d files for a client, but i dont remember what
it whas for. xD
Edit: I remember now ^^ I made models for a custom add-on for ''Command and Conquer / Generals'', i also made mods in my
free time for the game to use in multiplayer with friends. The whole game whas actually made just to proof that a game with
models and a engine based on shockwave, would function and look just as good as any other tegnique (in that time), the game
resulted in a great comunity makin mods for the game to customize it, what also resulted in making Tools for it.
So i suggest u google for tools/converters for Command and conquer - generals, and find a converter that converts the *w3d
files to a more acceptable format. there should be tons of those on the net
oh and go here in SketchUp, and ull find more then spheres ;)
